History of the house at Oberstettener Straße 26

Guests have been served at the corner of Oberstettener Straße and Neukreuth for over 100 years – from Inn at the Railway up to the present day Pizzeria da RoccoThe location was ideal from early on: since 1869, trains have been running through Schrozberg, attracting craftsmen, business people and home builders.

Around the turn of the century, it opened
Johann Mack, a member of the well-known Mack family of innkeepers from Rot am See, who runs the "Zur Eisenbahn" inn. Together with his wife Lina Hütter He ran a tavern, a butcher shop, a sausage kitchen, and some guest rooms. During the First World War, Lina ran the business alone, as Johann Mack was fighting on the front in France.

After Johann Mack's death, Lina sold the property to Friedrich Bauer, whose son Friedrich Bauer Junior Later, as a railway innkeeper, he took over the house. Around 1950, he had large parts of the house demolished and rebuilt. In the following decades, the building housed various supermarkets, including Vivo, Löwen, Edeka, and Delta Markt.
